On Sunday September 10th, Agudath Israel of California hosted a legislative breakfast at the home of Presidium Chairman Dr. Irving Lebovics. Approximately 50 community leaders and activists attended and had an opportunity to have meaningful discussions with the various government officials who came. Among the topics covered were government aid to Jewish schools, support for Israel, anti-BDS legislation, religious freedom, community safety and the current political realities. It was a chance for the government representatives to get to know the Jewish community leaders and an opportunity for the Jewish community to thank those government leaders for the work they have done on behalf of the Jewish community.

The new LA County Coroner- Medical Examiner Dr. Jonathan Lucas, was in attendance, together with the recently elected chairman of the California Democratic Party, Eric Bauman. The State Legislature was represented by Assemblymen Richard Bloom and Adrin Nazarian, and State Senator Ben Allen. Los Angeles City Councilmembers Paul Koretz and David Ryu attended together with representatives from the Congressional offices of Ted Lieu and Brad Sherman. LA County Prison Chaplain Shirley Friedman rounded out the group of government officials.
